Nature's Pharmacy
Domnitsa Uilean is a licensed pharmacist, founder of Nature's Pharmacy, Inc. specializing in complementary medicine. Prior to obtaining her pharmacist license in the US she had worked as a pharmacist in her native country, Romania, more than 20 years. She is a graduate of The Institute of Medicine and Pharmacy (IMF) in Cluj, Romania with a degree in Pharmacy.
Her experience of more than 40 years in a Pharmacy includes the diversity of the material from two schools of Pharmacy, European and American. However, there is still a difference between the philosophies in these two schools when preparing students to become pharmacists. In the US there is a medicine for every given symptom. In Europe, the focus is on finding the root causes of the symptoms. For example, one might be amazed to find out that problems related to neurotransmitters in the brain are rooted outside the brain. The brain doesn't work alone. The body works as a team and all the members of the team have to be tuned toward healthy function. In medical terms this is called homeostasis.
A detailed study in Physiology and Chemistry helps the future graduates to understand better the body's ways of healing itself. Also, a detailed study in Botany and Pharmacognosy, the science of herbs, which is not only an intensive course but made up 3 years of the curriculum, helps to understand better the contribution of nature in the process of healing.
